One member asked what the KCA would do if we received more money. Viewing the above documents shows that the KCA is not covering its ongoing costs and depleting a reserve that was built up a few years ago. The first thing the KCA would do with extra members and donations would be to cover normal operating costs.
The KCA would like to do more than just meet expenses. With an additional $1,000 beyond expenses we would:
Expand our Christmas Elf project, for those in need
Improve communications with the community - perhaps bring back a mailed newsletter, host important topics on Akaku
Fund emergency supplies and CPR training for the community
Support a local scout effort
Provide a scholarship for a Kula student
