Election Forum Minutes Call
to Order The meeting was called to order by
President Elliott Krash at 6:30 p.m. in the Kula community Center.
She explained that copies of recent meeting minutes were available at the
membership desk. Audience members
and television viewers were invited to visit the KCA website and join the
association. Mrs. Krash recognized
Board Members who had helped plan and set-up the forum and thanked the audience,
the media, and the candidates for their participation and support.
Special thanks went out to Dick Mayer for organizing the event.
Attendance during the evening ranged from 55 to 80 people. Program:
General Election Forum Elliott Krash introduced moderators
Dick Mayer, Karolyn Mossman, Verna Nahulu, and Hari Ajmani and timekeepers John
McDonald and Mitch Silver. Dick
Mayer explained the program. All
candidates for County Council, State House of Representatives, State Senate, and
Board of Education were invited to participate.
Candidates for each office were asked to respond to three or four
questions from the moderator. Audience
members could submit questions to be asked.
Council races this year are non-partisan.
All citizens vote for council members, not just the member from their
'residency district". Following
is a list of invited candidates, with incumbents (*), absentees (abs), and
parties (D, R, G [Green], A [Aloha Aina]) so indicated.
