Dear Mr. Reinhardt:

Harvey Makii attended a recent meeting of the Kula Community Association (KCA) Board of Directors to inform us of the possible co-location of a wireless service antenna on a MECO pole at the Pukalani facility located across from King Kekaulike High School. He explained the federal regulation requiring co-location of wireless communications antennas on existing antenna poles and facilities. He also provided photos of the existiting antennas at the Pukalani site and other types of antennas.

There were no objections by the KCA Board Members to the additional antenna on the existing pole. Members expressed support for the improved communication and 911 safety services that would be provided. There was, however, concern about the possible proliferation of antennas in inappropriate locations. The Board unanimously approved a motion to request MECO to notify the KCA of all subsequent requests by carriers for access. It is our wish that you will continue to inform us prior to the final decision on co-location projects and involve us to the extent possible in the decision making process.

We look forward to working with you in the future to provide improved services Upcountry. The Board wishes to thank Harvey for coming to our meeting to inform them of the request and pending addition.

Sincerely,

Elliott Krash, President
