KCA Accomplishments

What the KCA has done recently to help improve your  community
  • Testified on the 2019 County Budget Priorities for Kula and the Upcountry region.
  • Worked with Parks Department and Kula residents on Kula Park playground equipment project and make park ADA accessible. Helped to secure county funding for this project.
  • Developed the need for a fire-break to protect Upcountry from potential fires in fallow fields.
  • Continued to work with the Council’s Ag Working Group on Ag issues.
  • Continued efforts to highlight the importance of preventing and eradicating Invasive Species.
  • Worked with Verizon on their plans for new cell towers in Kula and upcountry.
  • Supported Hale Mahaolu Senior affordable-housing in Kulamalu near Long’s.
  • Supported a revised bike-tour ordinance, requiring regulation of bicycle tour & rental businesses.
  • Helped secure funding from state legislature for a stoplight at Omaopio and Kula Highway intersection.

Our Vision
The vision of the Kula community Association is to preserve open space, support agriculture, maintain a rural residential atmosphere, and to work together as a community. The specific purpose of this association is to improve the quality of life for the residents of Kula, to promote civic welfare and generally to benefit the community of Kula.
