                                  Welcome to the Kula Community Association Website
                                  The Kula Community Association (KCA) is a membership organization open to all residents and businesses in "Kula District" (See Section II D of the By-Laws) .  Non-voting Associate Memberships are also available for those living outside of the Kula boundary.  Everyone is welcome to attend Board Meetings and General Meetings.  Find the next scheduled meeting here.


                                  Help support the continued work of the KCA by Signing Up for Announcements, Becoming a Member, Join a Committee or by Donating to the KCA on the pull-down menu.

                                  What the KCA has done to help improve the community:
                                  1.  Donated $500 to the Book Trust Maui County and $500 to the Kula Elementary School PTA. Received a $500 grant from the Walmart Foundation that was also donated to the PTA.  

                                  2. Voter education for 2010 elections:  Primary Forum for County Council races at the Kula Community Center, first live debate on Maui TV (Akaku) for Primary and General election Mayoral candidates.
                                  3.  Collaborated with County Parks Department to have trees added to Kula Park, next to Kula School.
                                  4.  Improvements of sidewalks in Waikoa, tennis courts at the Community Center, and addition of 24-hour ground ambulance and air ambulance service.  

                                  5. Through close collaboration with the Aging With Aloha Coalition, Kaunoa Senior Services and State of Hawaii AARP, KCA members successfully advocated with State legislators for $3.5 million for Kupuna Care, community home-based services, delivery of meals, and other senior services.

                                  The KCA's planned improvements for 2012 include:

                                  1.  Represent Kula's interest in the 2011 County Budget including:  water meters, road improvements, Community Police Officer, Kula bus route, sidewalks, bike safety, Poli Poli bridge repairs and Hansen Road improvements.

                                  2.  Record and archive comprehensive history of Kula including contributions by ethnic groups, capturing the local color from family histories and sharing of historical maps and photographs.

                                  3.  Represent Kula in proposals for: Kula Clinic, Pukalani Triangle project, Sempra wind farm and other proposals


                                  4.  Improve service to the community through Kupuna Resources, Emergency Preparedness and neighbor-helping-neighbor links.
